Founded in 2006 in the historic city of Odessa by the distinguished choreographer Vladimir Troshchenko, our company was born from a prestigious invitation to perform Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcrackerthroughout the most renowned theaters in the USA.

From that moment onwards, the company has engaged in international tours, performing world-class productions of Swan LakeSleeping Beauty, and the passionate Carmen Suite to audiences throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.

Today, we continue to uphold the highest standards of the classical Ukrainian ballet school, preserving the profound artistic vision and mastery of our founder on the global stage.

The repertoire of the Soul of Classical Ballet was created in the best traditions of the art form, meticulously inheriting the experience of such legendary masters as Natalia Makarova, Rudolf Nureyev, and Mikhail Baryshnikov.

A Peer of Legends

Vladimir Troshchenko graduated from the world-renowned Vaganova Academy of Dance in 1973. He studied under the legendary Svyatoslav Kuznetsov, in the same class as the ballet icon Mikhail Baryshnikov.

Complementing his elite technical foundation, he later earned a degree from the Choreography Department of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in 1992, mastering the art of ballet direction.

Throughout his illustrious performing career, he danced leading roles in such ballets as “Swan Lake”, “The Sleeping Beauty”, “The Nutcracker”, “La Bayadere”, “Giselle”, “Don Quixote”, and others, sharing the spotlight as a partner to legendary stars like Nadezhda Pavlova and Lyudmila Semenyaka.

This elite foundation shaped his impeccable technique and deep understanding of classical heritage.

 International Choreography

As a masterful choreographer, Vladimir created a series of original productions for major stages across the USA and Europe. His creative journey included his first production of “Mozart and Salieri” (1987), followed by a prolific decade that brought to life “Francesca da Rimini”, “Mercedes”, “The Last Step”, and the exotic “Flight to Shanghai”. His diverse portfolio also featured unique interpretations of masterpieces like “Don Quixote”, “Carmen Suite”, “The Sleeping Beauty”, and “Zora”.

In 1996 Vladimir performed leading parts in the ballets “Swan Lake” and “Sleeping Beauty” in duet with the renowned People’s Artist of USSR – Nadezhda Pavlova, Prima ballerina of world renowned Bolshoi Theatre.

Leadership at the
Odessa National Opera House

From 1998 to 2010, Vladimir served as the Chief Choreographer of the Odessa National  Opera House. During this definitive period, he staged new versions of the “Big Three” Tchaikovsky ballets (“Swan Lake”, “The Sleeping Beauty”, “The Nutcracker”), the Ukrainian classic “Lilea”, and restored the brilliant choreographic fabric of “Don Quixote” and “La Bayadere”.

His versatility also shone in works for younger audiences, including his original ballets “Alice in Wonderland” and “Peter Pan”.

Founding Soul of Classical Ballet

Vladimir’s vast experience culminated in the founding of the Soul of Classical Ballet, which he led as Artistic Director from 2006 to 2021.

Beyond the stage, he was a recognized authority in the academic world, serving as a member of the Board of the Union of Choreographers of Ukraine and an Acting Assistant Professor of the Choreography Department at the Ushinskiy South Ukrainian Pedagogical University, leaving behind a legacy of excellence that defines the company today.

A Lifelong Dedication to Art

Born in Odessa, Aleksandra Fedorina began her professional journey at the age of 15. Upon graduating from the Odessa City Ballet School in 1981, she immediately joined the Odessa National Opera House. Her talent quickly secured her a vital place in the theatre’s extensive repertoire, leading to decades of international tours across the USA, Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and beyond.

 The Architect of the Company

Aleksandra stood at the very origins of the Soul of Classical Ballet. As the primary collaborator and closest associate of its founder, Vladimir Troshchenko, she was instrumental in building the company’s foundation. Her role was multifaceted: she balanced complex administrative leadership with the rigorous artistic demands of rehearsals and stage management during the company’s prestigious international tours.

Academic Excellence and Leadership

In 2021, Aleksandra further solidified her expertise by graduating as a Master of Choreography from the Academy of Music, Theatre, and Fine Arts in Chisinau. Her significant contributions to the field have been officially recognized with multiple awards from the Governor of the Odessa Region for her impact on national ballet art.

Carrying the Legacy Forward

During the global challenges of recent years, Aleksandra devoted herself to refining the company’s repertoire and mentoring a new generation of star performers. Following the passing of Vladimir Troshchenko in 2021, she was appointed Artistic Director. Under her leadership, the company continues to uphold the highest standards of classical excellence, ensuring that the visionary legacy of its founder flourishes on the world stage today.
